Swallow School Receives Top Rankings from U.S. News & World Report for 2022
The Swallow School District received top rankings in Wisconsin in the U.S. News and World Report’s inaugural ranking of elementary and middle schools.
The middle school is ranked 5th in the state out of 562 middle schools and the elementary school 26th out of 1030 elementary schools across the state.
Swallow placed among the top 30% of elementary and middle schools in the state of Wisconsin, making it BOTH a U.S. News Best Elementary School and a Best Middle School. Of the 80,000 U.S. public elementary and middle schools that were evaluated by U.S. News, barely 1,000 earned both awards.
“To earn this recognition, on top of the recent NICHE and STEM awards, given the challenges of the past year and a half only further validates the exceptionally hard work of our entire staff for the benefit of students. Awards like this cannot be expected nor planned for; they are the result of extremely dedicated professionals who put children first day in and day out over time. Our community’s support and value of education, which began here in 1842 before Wisconsin was even a state, is also evident in this accolade,” added Superintendent Melissa Thompson.
