Occupational Therapist

Hello! My name is Carla Frantl, and I am very proud to say that this is my 11th year as the Occupational Therapist at Swallow School. I am very excited to be part of the Swallow family and look forward to working with your children!

I graduated from UW - Milwaukee in 1999 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Occupational Therapy. I chose Occupational Therapy within the school system because I wanted to be a part of enhancing a child’s ability to be successful in their learning environment. This includes working on fine motor skills which are important for success with daily activities such as drawing, cutting, printing, and keyboarding. There is nothing better than seeing the smile on a child’s face when they have been successful in achieving their OT goals.

In my free time I enjoy traveling, shopping, going for walks, watching football, and spending time with my family and friends. My husband Steve, and I have 2 adult children. Alexis (21) a senior at UW - Whitewater, and Jake (19) a freshman at the University of Pittsburgh pursuing a degree in business and playing football.

I am joining Swallow this year one day per week, typically Wednesdays, and work the remainder of the week at Richmond just down the road! I grew up in Tosa and got my undergraduate from West Virginia University. I got my Master's in Education Psychology/School Psychology in December 2016 from UW-Milwaukee. Last year was my first year as an independent licensed school psychologist (full time at Richmond). I graduated this summer with my PhD in Education Psychology/School Psychology from UW-Milwaukee. I am married with a son (1.5 years old)!

Special Education Teacher

Hi! My name is Lauren Simon, and I am a Special Education Teacher here at Swallow School where I work with students in 4K-8th grade. I joined the staff in 2017 after teaching at The Richardson School for 3 years. The Richardson School is an alternative school for students with special needs that specializes in supporting children, adolescents and young adults who have diagnoses of developmental/neurological disabilities, and behavioral and emotional concerns.

Prior to teaching at the Richardson School, I received my bachelor's degree in Special Education at William Woods University in Fulton, Missouri and a certificate in cross categorical special education servicing students with mild-moderate disabilities. After graduating college, I was hired as a Special Education teacher at the Fulton School District and taught in the intensive needs classroom. I have always had a passion for teaching and working with students with disabilities. I am now seeking my masters degree in Special Education with additional certificates to specialize in autism spectrum disorders and ABA therapy through UW-Whitewater.

When I am not teaching, I enjoy spending time with family and friends. My fiance and I love to travel and often visit our family in Montana. I enjoy playing tennis, painting and riding my horse.

Speech/Language Pathologist

Hi! My name is Sarah Sarchet. I am the speech therapist at Swallow School and work with students beginning at age three all the way up to 8th grade. I am in my 16th year at Swallow. I actually attended Swallow School from kindergarten through 8th grade. It is amazing how it has grown and changed, but also wonderful how the passion for learning and commitment by the staff, families, and students has stayed the same.

I attended Arrowhead High School and then went on to Liberty University in Virginia and got my Bachelors in Psychology. I came back to Wisconsin and went to graduate school at Marquette University. I received my Masters of Science in Speech and Language Pathology. In addition, I hold a Certificate of Clinical Competence from the American Speech-Language and Hearing Association.

I am married to a wonderful man, Jason, and have four precious children, Caden, Kylie, Cruz, and Kinley. We live in Hartland and all of my children also attend Swallow. We love spending time as a family. Besides being a speech therapist, mother, and wife, I also enjoy spending my time cooking, reading, and playing all kinds of sports.
