Three Swallow Students Earn National Recognition for Letters About Literature

They were chosen as part of 25 semi-finalists from over 700 applicants across grades 3-12.

Ashley wrote to Mike Lupica, author of Gamechangers # 2: Playmakers, Addison wrote to Angelica Banks, author of Finding Serendipity, Parnia wrote to Karen Hesse, author of Out of the Dust and Samantha wrote to Donna Cooner, author of Can’t Look Away and Worthy.

Letters About Literature is a reflective writing competition sponsored by the Library of Congress Center for the Book. Students are asked to read a book, poem or speech and write to the author (living or dead) about how the book affected them personally. Letters are judged on state and national levels. Tens of thousands of students from across the country enter Letters About Literature each year.
