The Swallow School District recently completed its 3rd Community Conversations Series. The meetings were held at the school as well and throughout the community in the homes of residents in the district. Community Conversations began in the 2013-14 school year when the school board and administration committed to holding a series of gatherings every other year to engage all district residents, school families, students and staff to provide important feedback to shape the vision for the school districts future.

This year’s Community Conversations included meetings with students, staff, and eight for parents and residents in the community. In all, 10% of current Swallow parents participated and 3% of Swallow district residents.

During each Community Conversations meeting the school board and administration began with a short presentation about the school district then solicited feedback around expectations and recommendations for curriculum, programming, and services and what participants would support the district doing to meet these expectations and recommendations. Feedback from the Community Conversations was recorded and will be reported to the school board by administration on February 9, shared with the district's Facilities Advisory Committee at its meeting on Tuesday, February 13, and posted to the Stay Informed section of the district’s website thereafter.
