Welcome to 5th grade! I am Kelly Cavaiani, and I am excited about the start of the school year and working with your child. This is my fourteenth year at Swallow and my twelfth year in 4th grade. We have created a child-centered learning environment where the curriculum engaging and fun!

We focus on creating a positive learning environment where all students feel valued and have a sense of belonging. Through morning meetings and Community Connections time, our students learn to respect, have patience, and kindness toward one another. Additionally, the fourth graders will be serving various organizations in our area by making placemats for Meals on Wheels, writing letters to veterans on Honor Flight mail calls, creating inspirational banners for residents at Shorehaven, and many other opportunities!

During our core curriculum classes, the fourth grade does a lot of flexible groupings amongst all classes, so students can get to work with students in other classrooms. We work at creating differentiated learning opportunities so all students are challenged.

Currently, I am working on my Master’s Degree in Reading and will finish by Thanksgiving. I have learned a lot about the science of teaching reading and writing. I am looking forward to using my newly gained knowledge this year! When I am not working or studying, I enjoy spending time with my husband, Jay, and our three children when they are at home. I also enjoy watching my daughter play in college golf tournaments, visiting my oldest in NYC, walking my dog Charlie on the trails, golf, tennis, snowshoeing, and reading.

I will communicate with you throughout the school year about your child’s progress and what we are learning in the classroom. However, feel free to contact me with any concerns. I am looking forward to a fun and exciting year together!

Greetings and welcome to Room 136!  My name is Brian Dall and I appreciate the opportunity I have to teach at Swallow School.  The first 11 years of my teaching career were spent at North Lake School, teaching 5th grade for 10 of those years. In 2004, I landed at Swallow School and currently teach 5th grade.  I truly enjoy teaching and desire to have your child succeed in my classroom. I believe a strong partnership between home and school is the best vehicle to achieve this goal. To develop that relationship please feel free to contact me as needs arise throughout the school year.

When I’m not as Swallow School I enjoy spending time with my wife and four children making memories. My personal hobbies include: golfing, reading, and doing projects around our home in the Town of Erin.

One of my favorite quotes is: “I’m convinced that life is 10% what happens to me, and 90% how I react to it.” - Charles Swindoll

Welcome to fifth grade! I’ve been teaching since 1994. I began my career as an elementary Spanish teacher. I was hired at Swallow School in 2000, where I taught third grade for 17 years and then switched to fifth grade in 2017. I graduated from UW-Whitewater in 1994 with a major in Elementary Education, grades 1-9, and a Spanish minor. In 2002, I earned my Master's Degree in Reading from UW-Whitewater. I have since taken courses through Viterbo University, and I earned my Reading Specialist license in 2013. I consider myself a life-long learner and truly value the opportunity for everyone to be inspired to learn.

I enjoy spending my free time reading and relaxing at home, hanging out with my family, going for walks, and watching movies. I'm confident that you will agree; Swallow School is a great place to be!
